COMMUNITY CREATIVITY ACTIVITY SERVICE (CCAS) FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, WHICH ALSO MEETS REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE FOR GRADUATION.
Community Creativity Activity Service (CCAS) is a significant and purposeful engagement over an extended period of time. CCAS Projects fall into one or more of these four categories:
Community: Community is construed and advanced as a dynamic, collaborative process with and through groups of people who are associated by geographic proximity, cultural background, or similar interest across society to improve their collective well-being. The engagement is multi-faceted, relationship-oriented, and prioritizes mutual benefit, inclusivity, communication, and interaction that lead to measurable outcomes.
Creativity: CCAS Projects that express creative thinking, and the way it is expressed, such as the ability to come up with unique, original solutions, which are valuable or marketable. The creativity is wide - from writing, calligraphy, poetry, animation, music, public presentation, advertisements, to research. Activity: CCAS Projects that promote healthy and balanced lifestyles such as nutrition and fitness. It could be organizing aerobics, Zumba, yoga classes, community gardening and inviting all age groups, soccer and basketball competitions, wellness challenge, to campaigns that educate the public about the benefits of physical activity and proper nutrition.
Service: CCAS Projects that focus on addressing a specific cause or contributing to such a cause with discernible objectives, such as homelessness, social justice, international cooperation and exchange, bilingualism, gender equity, etc. Service takes a special dimension not just for fulfilling graduation requirements; it is central to JKI’s mission of fostering a society of socially curious and engaged residents.
